Troubleshooting and Known ProblemsKNOWN PROBLEMS Scrollbars disabled on certain data grids As of this writing the fix for this problem has not been solved. We are aware this occurs in the Complete Work and Express Schedule grids. The workaround is to simply resize any column in the grid by a small amount. You do this by placing the mouse cursor over the line that divides two columns, clicking the left mouse button and moving the mouse either left or right and the releasing the mouse button. The scrollbar will reactivate after any column is resized. TOOLBOXES ON THE CUSTOMER PAGE DON'T DISPLAY PROPERLY The tabs on the right edge of the customer page display a "toolbox" when you either click on the tab or the mouse cursor hovers over them. The toolbox should "slide" out from the right edge. If after the toolbox slides out the toolbox looks incomplete or garbled you will have to install Service Pack 1A for XP from Microsoft. TROUBLESHOOTING Office Express Won't Start After Upgrading Windows Simply, our development team is always downloading the latest updates (service packs) for Windows from the Microsoft web site. Even though the upgrade CD you used is a Microsoft product CD, many service packs have been released since that CD was created. Office Express shipped with the latest updates from Microsoft. When you upgraded from the Microsoft CD the Windows installer overwrote the new updates that came with Office Express. This seems to be the case, especially with the MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components). To correct this problem you'll need to reinstall the newer MDAC. Office Express shipped with a file that contains the newer MDAC. To install the newer MDAC: 1. Insert the Office Express CD 2. click the Windows Start button 3. Click Run 4. Type in: D:MDAC_TYP.EXE 5. A Windows installer will begin to run. Follow all the instructions and when the installation is complete you can then begin to use Office Express. NOTE: We encountered this when upgrading from Windows XP Home Edition to Windows XP Professional edition.
